Editorial Independence

The Northmark editorial team operates independently of our commercial team. While we are funded by affiliate revenue from broker partnerships, commercial relationships do not influence editorial content.

Specifically:

  • Broker rankings are based solely on our methodology, not on commission rates
  • Negative findings are published, even for partner brokers
  • Brokers are removed from recommendations if their score drops, regardless of partnership status
  • No "pay to play." A broker cannot pay to be featured, ranked higher, or removed from negative coverage

Content Sourcing

All factual claims in our content are sourced from:

  1. Primary sources: Broker official websites, regulatory filings, public press releases
  2. Regulator databases: CySEC, ASIC, FCA, FSC, FINMA, MAS, JFSA public registers
  3. Live testing: Our own account opening and trading with brokers we review
  4. Reputable secondary sources: Reuters, Bloomberg, FT, regulatory bodies' announcements

We do not rely on:

  • Other affiliate sites
  • Unverified user reviews
  • Forum rumors or social media chatter
  • Competitor "comparison" content

Fact-Checking

Every published article goes through our fact-checking protocol before publication. Specific bonus amounts, spread figures, regulatory claims, and other quantifiable facts are verified at the time of writing and re-verified at least quarterly.

The "Last verified" date on each review and article indicates the most recent fact-check.

Author Credentials

Our editorial team consists of writers and analysts with:

AI-Assisted Content

We use AI (Anthropic's Claude) to assist with:

  • Initial draft generation (subject to editorial review)
  • Translation across our 11 languages
  • Research aggregation and summarization

All AI-assisted content is:

  • Subject to human editorial review before publication
  • Fact-checked through our standard protocol

We do not use AI for:

Corrections Policy

If we publish factually incorrect information:

  1. Reader notification of errors: Please email us through Contact with the URL and specific concern
  2. Investigation: We aim to investigate credible error reports within 72 hours
  3. Correction: If confirmed, we will:
    • Update the article
    • Add a "Corrections" footer noting what was changed and when
    • Update the "Last verified" date
  4. Major corrections: For materially significant errors (e.g., misstating a regulatory status), we will publish a separate correction notice
